The teenage years are not only a challenging and sometimes problematic time for parents but for teens as well. Sometimes challenges or problems are faced by teens and they begin to act out, experiment with alcohol or substance use, or begin to have problems academically in school. It's hard to maintain healthy communication among parents and their teenagers during this time and sometimes it's necessary for teens to have a counselor or therapist to talk to. Many times there are underlying reasons teenagers begin to act out and our counselors are here to help your teen identity reasons for their changes in behavior, help them cope with problems, and re-establish good communication at home.

Sometimes changes in a teenager's behavior are just part of growing up and they're becoming more independent in certain areas of their life making choices without really understanding the consequences. There are times though when a teenager is faced with problems and their way of coping is to act out. Problems can include their parent's separation or divorce, problems with friends or a relationship breaks apart, peer pressure, or bullying in school.

We are licensed counselors who have years of experience working with teens helping them identify problems or issues in their life and help them find solutions to work through them. We help them solve problems without making poor choices that could affect them the rest of their life like drinking, substance use, or dropping out of school.

We also help improve communication between parents and their teens and rebuild trust. The teenage years can be a difficult time for both teens and their parents and sometimes guidance and support are all it takes to make a difference.
